Purpose of this add-in
The world
most used web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer
is still devoid for support of PDF/XPS and other
popular document formats, unlike the Microsoft
Office 2007 and 2010 applications which can now
export documents in PDF and XPS formats. So, as
usual, most of us has to either rely on Adobe
Acrobat plugin (which cost a lot, you will have to
buy it) or, make use of a PDF printer driver, or
crudely, one just simply copy-paste the content of
the web page to Microsoft Word and convert to PDF/XPS.
Document Exporter is designed to bridge this gap by
bringing the PDF/XPS supports in Internet Explorer,
by leveraging your existing investment in Microsoft
Office.
|

How does it work?
Internally, Document Exporter makes use of Microsoft Word
2007 or 2010 to perform all the processing/export and hence, you are
able to save web pages to PDF and XPS plus other popular
formats such as DOC, DOCX, RTF or ODT. The
use of Microsoft Word is totally transparent to the user and
is thread safe i.e., your current opened documents in
Microsoft Word are not affected.
| |
i) Export the current web page as one of the
following document format: Adobe Portable
PDF, Paper Specification XPS, Word 97 DOC, Word 2007
DOCX, Rich Text RTF or OpenDocument ODT.

You can also right-click the web page and select one
of the context menu item, to quickly convert to a
document format.
 |
| |
|
| |
ii) Email the current web page as an
attachment of one of this document format:
Adobe Portable PDF, Paper Specification XPS,
Word 97 DOC, Word 2007 DOCX, Rich Text RTF or
OpenDocument ODT. If you have Microsoft Outlook®
(any version) installed, this would
automatically convert the webpage to the
selected format, and attach to a new email, and
then displayed.
